Track what Congress and the Executive Branch trade

Stock trades by members of the House, the Senate and the Executive Branch, taken from official public disclosures. See estimated return, rank and win rate for each member, with a link to the source filing on every trade.

Alerts Pro Congress Trades is a tracker of stock trades disclosed by members of the House, the Senate and the Executive Branch under the STOCK Act and OGE Form 278-T. Returns are estimates built from disclosed amount ranges, and filings can lag trades by up to 45 days. It is part of the Full Desk plan and is not investment advice.

How it works

Included in the Full Desk plan. Billed monthly via Stripe, cancel anytime. Estimates from public data, not investment advice.

Why use it

Public disclosures, made usable

The filings are public but scattered across PDFs on three government sites. Here is what Alerts Pro does with them.

One list, three sources

House Clerk and Senate eFD periodic transaction reports plus OGE 278-T filings, parsed into one searchable trade list instead of hundreds of separate PDFs.

Executive Branch included

OGE Form 278-T transactions for 2025 and 2026, including the President and other officials who file them.

Return, rank and win rate

Each member gets an estimated % return, rank and win rate, calculated the same way for everyone from disclosed range midpoints.

Verify every trade

Each trade shows the disclosed amount range, trade and filing dates, and a link to the original official filing.

Filter by chamber, party, year

Narrow to the House, Senate or Executive Branch, a party, or a year to compare like with like.

Net worth in context

Net worth ranges from annual financial disclosures, shown next to each member's trading activity.

Member and total stats

Trade counts, buys, sells, estimated volume and data coverage per member and across all of Congress.

Honest about gaps

Trades that cannot be priced or read are counted and flagged as excluded rather than silently dropped.

Rows are unedited public disclosure data. Amounts are ranges, not exact. A listing is not a recommendation and is not an endorsement of the trade.

How it works

From filing to ranking

1

Official filings are collected

We read House Clerk and Senate eFD periodic transaction reports and OGE 278-T filings as they are published. Scanned filings are read by OCR where possible.

2

Trades are matched and priced

Each trade is matched to a company and ticker, with party and state added from public records. Trades that cannot be priced are excluded and counted.

3

Returns are estimated

Each member's disclosed stock trades are replayed using the midpoint of the reported amount range, then ranked.

4

You explore and verify

Filter by chamber, party and year, open a member for per-trade detail, and follow the link to the original filing before drawing conclusions.

FAQ

Common questions

What are STOCK Act disclosures?

The Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act of 2012 requires Members of Congress and senior government officials to publicly report their securities transactions. Members of the House and Senate file periodic transaction reports (PTRs); Executive Branch officials file OGE Form 278-T. Alerts Pro reads these official filings; it does not use leaks or private information.

How are returns estimated?

Disclosures only give each trade as an amount range, not exact dollars or share counts. We replay each member's disclosed stock trades for the year using the midpoint of each range: buys open a position at the trade-date close, sells close positions first-in, first-out at the trade-date close, and open positions are marked at the latest price. Return % is estimated profit or loss divided by the estimated cost of that year's buys.

Are the returns exact?

No. They are estimates built from ranges and midpoints. They are not a member's actual portfolio return, and the real figure could be higher or lower. Exact share counts, holdings from before the year, options, bonds, mutual funds and assets we cannot price are excluded from the calculation.

How delayed is the data?

Filings can be made up to 45 days after a trade, and some are filed later or posted in batches, so the data always lags the trades. A trade you see may be weeks old and the price may have moved since.

What is excluded or missing?

Trades we cannot price or match to a ticker (many bonds, funds, options and other non-stock assets), scanned or handwritten filings that cannot be read reliably, and Executive Branch reports that OGE lists only as available on request. Excluded trades are counted and flagged on the Congress page rather than silently hidden, but the list may be incomplete.

Does it show the Vice President?

No. We show only what the Office of Government Ethics has posted. At the time of writing OGE had not posted any 278-T transaction reports for the Vice President, so none appear.

Which plan includes the Congress page?

The Congress page is part of the Full Desk plan, which also includes live alerts, calculator, portfolio and paper trading. The Alerts plan does not include it.

Is this investment advice?

No. Alerts Pro is an educational tool. Copying politicians' trades carries real risk: you see trades late, at different prices, without knowing why they were made or what else the member holds. Past disclosed trades do not predict future results and no returns are promised.
